Rayong

Topography

Rayong located at Eastern board of Thailand, 179km by car from Bangkok. It consists of 3,552 square km area and 100 km of beach connect to the gulf of Thailand. The 10 islands group is abundant with marine resources.

It contains many oddly shaped islands and rocks.

The largest island is Koh Samet which is well known in South East Asia.

Climate

The average temperatures are around 28 degree Celsius.

How to get to Rayong

There are 3 ways to travel to Rayong :

Air

- 45 minutes from Bangkok airport to Utapao airport by Orient Thai Airline.
Car/Taxi
- from Bangkok by main road No. 3 or Sukhumvit road in 3 Hours.
- You can hire a taxi from the Bangkok area to Rayong province for about 2,000 Baht.

- from Bangkok, The bus leaves from Eakamai station, trips start from 04.00 until 22.00 every 40 minutes.

Rayong city - Bangkok

- from Rayong, The bus leave from Main station, trips start from 03.30 until 21.00, every 40 minutes.

Bangkok - Banpae (If you want to go to Koh Samet directly.)

- from Bangkok, The bus leave from Eakamai station, trips start from 07.00 until 20.30 every 40 minutes.

- from Banpae, The bus leave from Banpae station, trips start from 04.00 until 17.30, every hour.

Rayong attractions

The numerous places of attraction in Rayong can be conveniently grouped into the following routes:

Chamao and Vong International Park (On the way to Samet Island)
Samet International Marine Park (Samet, Man-Norg, Man-Nai, Man-Klang and Talu island)

Chamao and Vong International Park

There are 20 caves and 4 waterfalls in this area which are opened for tourists. The biggest waterfall is Chamao waterfall ,with 8 layers of falls.

The biggest Cave in Vong mountain is Rongbon Cave. There are around 20 caves in Vong area open for tourists and more then 50 caves are still not exploring.
